The Maritime Union of Australia (MUA) represents 16,000 professionals working across Australia's maritime sector. Different branches of the MUA are located throughout the country.

 

The MUA's Newcastle Branch currently represents around 600 employees. Positions held by MUA members often include port authority employees, bulk facility workers, painters and dockers, tugs and linesmen, seafarers and stevedoring workers.
