Hunter Workers welcomes announcement of Hunter Net Zero Manufacturing Centre of Excellence

Hunter Workers warmly welcomes the government’s plans to establish the Hunter Net Zero Manufacturing Centre of Excellence at the TAFE NSW Tighes Hill campus.

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Premier Chris Minns announced the Federal and State government will be jointly investing $60 billion to fund the Centre and develop a Higher Apprenticeship model focused on the advanced skills required for net zero manufacturing.

The Centre will also offer short courses aimed at upskilling current workers, establishing a National Renewable Energy Microskills Marketplace.

This investment will give workers in our region access to the the education and opportunities they need to secure quality, well paid jobs in emerging renewables industries.

Investing in workers means investing in communities and a better, brighter future for all!
